Genre and sub genre

Teen films are a film genre targeted at teenagers.

They usually consist of ideas such as:

coming of age

first love

rebellion (drinking, smoking, taking drugs, partying)

conflict with parents 

teen angst

Mostly set in school environment with characters that attend school

There are sometimes scenes of sexualized nature as well as humour.

There are also sub genres that fit into teen films such as teen drama, comedy, horror, musicals and many more.
